BRYANT WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO BENTLEY 17-16 IN OT

BOX SCORE

WALTHAM, Mass. - Down by a pair of goals at the half, the Bryant women's lacrosse team stormed back in the second half with seven goals to take a three goal lead but could not hold on as Bentley College prevailed 17-16 in overtime Tuesday night.  The loss drops the Bulldogs to 3-3 overall (1-1 NE-10) heading into Thursday's game against Franklin Pierce at the Bryant Turf Field (7 pm).

Bentley (2-3, 1-2 NE-10) got the game winner as Beth Gendron scored an unassisted goal with 3:18 left in the first overtime period, giving the Falcons their second win of the season.

Bryant got another standout performance from sophomore standout Allison Failoa (Billerica, MA).  The sophomore scored five goals and added three assists to give her 15 goals on the season.  The Bulldogs led 16-13 on a goal from Eliza Demarseilles (Branford, CT) with 8:50 left in the second half, but that's when the Falcons would make a late charge to force overtime.

Leigh Tedeschi answered Demarseilles' goal a minute later to make it 16-14 while Gendron scored with four minutes left to pull the Falcons to within a goal at 16-15 before Jaclyn Griffin netted the equalizer with 1:06 on the clock, knotting the score up at 16-16.

Caitlin Hanson (Spring Lake, NJ) and Delia Glover (Marston Mills, MA) each had three goals on the evening. The Bulldogs were able to make good on five of nine free position attempts, but 25 turnovers in the game, including 13 first half miscues hurt the Bulldogs.
