WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALL TO SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE 22-14 IN SEMIS
MANCHESTER, NH - The 2008 season came to a close for the Bryant University women's lacrosse team Friday night as the Bulldogs fell to Southern NH, 22-14 in a Northeast-10 Conference Semifinal round game. The Bulldogs close out the season 10-8 overall on the year. Sophomore Allison Faiola scored eight goals to give her 66 on the season.
Bryant trailed 12-5 at the half and were only outscored 10 to 9 in the second half but the Penmen were too much on this night as Carole Lee had five goals while Sherry Darrell and Laura Rotolo each added four as Southern NH will advance to Sunday's final.
Back to back goals by Delia Glover midway through the first half helped pull the Bulldogs to within 6-3 but goals from Lee and Darrell stretched the lead back to 8-3.
Senior Caitlin Hansen capped off her tremendous career scoring the final two goals of the game, one with 2:23 left and the final coming with 52 seconds remaining on an assist from Allison Faiola.
Hansen finishes the season with 61 goals while Faiola finishes
the year with a school record 66 goals plus 24 assists for 90 total
points.
