Women's Lacrosse Names Four Captains for Spring Season

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's lacrosse team has announced the captains for the upcoming 2009 season.  The announcement was made today by fourth-year coach Karen Healy as the Bulldogs prepare for the 2009 season opener Friday afternoon against Louisville (3:30 pm).

This year's captains are:  senior Delia Glover (Marston Mills, MA), senior Lauren Albert (South Windsor, CT), junior Allison Faiola (Billerica, MA) and senior Victoria Kuhns (South Windsor, CT).

Glover, a member of the Bryant women's volleyball team in the fall, was one of the team's top scorers a year ago with 37 goals and 15 assists.  One of the team's most versatile players, she'll move up from midfield to attack in 2009.

Faiola is the team's top returning scorer from a year ago.  Her 66 goals and 90 total points in '08 were a new single season school record.  She'll be counted on as a key contributor to the Bulldog offense up front along with Albert.

Albert is coming off a strong junior season that saw her score 28 goals and win 31 ground balls.   Kuhns is a veteran starter on defense having been one of the team's best defenders last season and will once again be counted on as a stopper.
