Grange?s Two Second Half Goals Leads Bryant to Victory

SMITHFIELD, RI ? Sophomore Casey Grange scored both of Bryant?s goals in the second half to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-1 victory over Northeast-10 Conference foe Southern Connecticut State Sunday at Bulldogs Stadium.
The first half of the game was played mostly in the midfield with both teams playing tough defense. Neither team allowed a goal.
Bryant (9-1-2) started the scoring off in the second half when Grange got an assist from freshman Lauren Childers on a breakaway and scored at 62:35.
The Owls responded 10 minutes later when Theresa Viscardi got an assist from Brittany Tartaglia on another breakaway and scored to make the game 1-1.
The game-winner for Bryant came with five minutes remaining when Grange scored her second goal of the day this time off a perfectly placed pass from freshman Diane Pascale.
Senior Kim Rekart got the win in goal for Bryant making four saves including two in the final four minutes. Junior Alana Bouley made 5 saves for Southern Connecticut.
Bryant will return to action Wednesday, October 6, when they travel to top-ranked Franklin Pierce. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
