Bryant Wins Senior Day Game 2-0

SMITHFIELD, RI ? The Bryant University women?s soccer team used a goal in the first half and one in the second to beat Holy Family University 2-0 in the Bulldogs Senior Day Game played today at Sutton Field.

Bryant (11-3-2) came out as the aggressor taking the ball right at the Tigers who played some tough defense to keep the game scoreless for the first 30 minutes. The Bulldogs finally got on the board at the 32:43 mark when sophomore Sara Gyllstorm (Hudson, Mass.) played a great cross to freshman Diane Pascale (Plymouth, Mass.) who scored the goal and give Bryant the 1-0 led.

The Bulldogs were even more aggressive in the second half out shooting the Tigers 14-to-1 and getting nine corners to zero for Holy Family (9-6-0). Bryant scored its second goal at 76:05 when freshman Stephanie Zalewski (Parsippany, NJ) scored off an assists form fellow freshman Tricia Spada (Dedham, Mass.)

Senior Kim Rekart (Ellicott City, MD) got the shutout win in goal for Bryant making two saves. For Holy Family Kristy Cusick made 13 saves in the loss.

Bryant will return to action Wednesday, October 20, when they travel to American International. Game time is set for 3:00PM.
