Women's Soccer Defeats AIC 6-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ? Kristen Harmon (Nashua, N.H.) notched two goals and two assists to lead Bryant University to a 6-1 win over American International College in a Northeast-10 women?s soccer match Wednesday afternoon at AIC Park. The Bulldogs improve to 12-3-2 overall and 8-2-2 in the league, while the Yellow Jackets are now 2-13-0 and 2-10-0 in conference action.
Casey Grange (Methuen, Mass.) would get Bryant on the board just 47 seconds in when she scored on a breakaway courtesy a feed from Harmon. Grange would then net the eventual game-winner in the fourth minute when she tallied on another breakaway, this one off a throw-in by Megan Reising (Diamond Point,N.Y.).
The Bulldogs would build a 6-0 halftime lead. Lisa Bielenin (E. Walpole, Mass.) would score at 7:37, followed by a Harmon penalty kick at 15:54 and another goal 32:32. Tricia Spada (Dedham, Mass.) closed out the scoring for the guests with 1:37 remaining in the half.
AIC would net its only goal with 3:02 remaining in the game. Joanne Germano (West Springfield, Mass.) recorded her team-leading sixth goal of the season when Bryant relief keeper Christina Baker (Doylestown, Pa.) came out to play the ball and Germano beat her. Cindy Reynolds (Malden, Mass.) assisted on the tally.
Kim Rekart (Ellicott City, Md.) played the first 73:50 in net for Bryant and made six saves without allowing a goal, while Baker made one stop. Sara Mead (Great Barrington, Mass.) made five saves for American International.
Bryant will return to action Saturday, October 23, when they travel to Pace. Game time is set for 2:30PM
