Bryant Falls 4-2 in Northeast-10 Conference Quarterfinal

ALBANY, NY ? The Bryant University women?s soccer team lost to Saint Rose 4-2 in a Northeast-10 Conference Tournament Quarterfinal game played today in Albany.
The Golden Knights would score the only two goals of the first half. The first came 18 minutes into the game when Renae Ransdell scored from 15 yards out of an assist from Ashley McGuire. Saint Rose would get the second goal of the half at the 36:12 mark when Lindsay Bove scored off an assist from Emily Riggott.
Bryant (13-5-2) would fight back early scoring the first two goals of the second half both from senior Kristen Harmon (Nashua, NH). Her first goal came just 1:40 into the second half when she took a pass from freshman Diane Pascale (Plymouth, Mass.) and scored the goal from 12-yards out.
Harmon second goal would come off a free kick from 25-yards out, when she placed the ball in the upper right corner of the net to tie the game 2-2.
The teams would play scoreless soccer for the next 27 minutes until the 77th minute when Saint Rose (13-3-2) would get another Ransdell goal for the win. Ransdell took another assist from McGuire and netted the shot from 8-yards out to give them the 3-2 led.
The Golden Knights added an insurance goal 2 minutes later when Kristen Winneberger socred off a cross from Sarah Gomes for the 4-2 final.
Kat Maraisa made three saves in the win for Saint Rose, while senior Kim Rekart (Ellicott City, MD) made six saves in the loss.
