WOMEN'S SOCCER OPENS WITH 3-0 WIN OVER HOLY FAMILY FRIDAY
PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Bryant University women's soccer team opened
the 2005 season Friday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Holy
Family. The Bulldogs got single goals from Nikki
Grandmaison, Stephanie Zalewski, and
Jennifer Mansilla. Jessica
Neales picked up the win in goal for the Bulldogs, making
four saves. Bryant will head to Wilmington on Saturday.
The Bulldogs scored all three of its goals in the first half with Grandmaison netting the team's first tally of the season in the 39th minute on a pass from Zalewski on the right side.
Zalewski would make it 2-0 three minutes later with an unassisted goal off a rebound while Mansilla would put home the Bulldogs' final goal in the final seconds of the first half.
Bryant out-shot Holy Family 22 to 5 in the game with Kristy Cusick making 14 stops in net for the Tigers.
