DAISY MARTINEZ SCORES TWICE IN OPENING HALF TO LIFT BRAYNT PAST

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Daisy Martinez (Eliot, ME) scored two goals in the opening half to lead Bryant to a 5-0 win over Le Moyne in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s soccer match at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Bulldogs (8-3-2, 5-2-1 Northeast-10) extend their winning streak to three consecutive matches, while Le Moyne dips to 4-4-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the Northeast-10.

Martinez headed home a cross from Sara Gyllstrom (Hudson, MA) to put Bryant on the board in the 17th minute. Less than four minutes later, she made it 2-0 on an unassisted tally.

Early in the second stanza, Sara Vienneau (Salem, NH) finished off a feed from Casey Grange (Methuen, MA) to make it 3-0. Shelley Leno (Enfield, CT) converted a penalty kick to make it 4-0 and Grange tacked in the fifth Bryant goal.

The visiting Bulldogs outshot their hosts 17-7. Le Moyne goalkeeper Jessica Cochol made six saves in the setback, while Jessica Neales (Swansea, MA) stopped two for Bryant.

The Bulldogs returns to action Monday hosting Georgian Court.
