Easton, Mass. - The Bryant University women's soccer team drew a 1-1 Northeast-10 Conference double overtime tie with Stonehill in the league opener for both teams Wednesday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.

nine minutes remaining in regulation.
The Bulldogs (3-1-2, 0-0-1 Northeast-10) evened matters just 2:07 later after Stonehill was called for a handball in the penalty area, and sophomore Tricia Spada (Dedham, Mass.) converted the penalty kick to force the extra sessions. Bryant outshot the Skyhawks by a 10-1 margin in the overtime periods, as Spada nearly won the match for the Bulldogs in the closing seconds on a direct kick, but her shot hit under the cross bar.
Freshman Jessica Neales (Swansea, MA) made six stops in net on the day for Bryant, as the Bulldogs outshot Stonehill by a 31-13 margin for the match.
Bryant hosts Franklin Pierce in Northeast-10 action on Saturday with a schedule start time of 3:00 p.m.
