Five Bulldogs Named to NEWISA Team; Reising Scores Goal in NEWISA Senior Bowl
FIVE BULLDOGS NAMED TO NEWISA ALL NEW ENGLAND TEAM
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Five Bryant women's soccer players were named to the 2006 NEWISA All New England team, capping a season that saw the Bulldogs win a school record 15 games and go to the NCAA Tournament for the second time.
Casey Grange (Methuen, Mass.) was named to the First Team. Grange set school records with 19 goals in a season and led the Bulldogs with 46 points, second in the conference. Grange also became the first player in Bryant history to reach 100 career points, while scoring a school record 40 goals. A second team All-American, she was also a Northeast-10 First Team member and a first-team All-Region selection.
Sophomore sweeper Danielle Malta (Bethel, Conn.) is a Second-Team selection. Malta had six assists this season, with the majority coming off free kicks. She played virtually every minute of every game, anchoring the Bulldogs' defense.
Junior forward Tricia Spada (Dedham, Mass.) joins Malta on the Second-Team. Spada posted three goals and six assists this season. She is third on the Bulldogs with 12 points, and scored all of her goals on penalty kicks.
Spada and Malta were previously selected to the NE-10 Second Team, while Malta also made the second-team All-Region team.
Junior forward Diane Pascale (Plymouth, Mass.) was also selected to the Second-Team. Pascale was second on the Bulldogs with nine goals and 19 points and led the team with six game-winning goals. She scored both goals in Bryant's 2-1 victory over Merrimack in the NE-10 Quarterfinals. Pascale was a third-team NE-10 selection and a second-team All-Region member.
Finally, sophomore Amy Orzechowski (New Milford, Conn.) was the fifth member to be selected and the fourth to the second team. It is the first post-season award Orzechowski received. The midfielder scored two goals in the Northeast-10 Semifinal match at top-ranked Saint Rose to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-1 upset win.

Reising Scores in NEWISA Senior Bowl
NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. - Grange and senior Megan Reising (Diamond Point, NY) were selected to play in the 2006 NEWISA Senior Bowl, which took place on Sunday Dec. 3. Fifty of New England's finest female players came together on the campus of Merrimack College to battle it out in a ‘North vs. South' battle.
With the South leading 1-0, Reising made it 2-0 as she took advantage of a North turnover in midfield before advancing and rocketing a shot into the goal from thirty yards into the net.
The game ended in a 2-2 tie.
