Flint Named New-England Region Coach of the Year, Up for National Coach of the Year Honors

After seeing his 2007 Bryant University women's soccer squad go 17-1-5, setting a new school record for victories in a season, eighth-year head coach Chris Flint adds to his postseason awards, being named the New-England Regional Coach of the Year as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Flint was named 2007 Coach of the Year of the Northeast-10 Conference, as voted on by all conference coaches, after the Bulldogs fell to Saint Rose in the league Championship game, 2-1. Flint currently sports a 96-54-15 overall record at Bryant.

The National Coach of the Year for each division will be announced at the Association's annual Awards Banquet, to be held Friday, Jan. 18 in Baltimore, Md.

Malta Named Second-Team All-East Academic All-American

In a mixed-division Academic Regional award, Bryant defender Danielle Malta garnered yet another honor to add to her 2007 postseason accolades. The junior finance major was named a second-team All-East Academic All-American by NSCAA/adidas for her efforts both on the field, and in the classroom. Malta is one of three Division II players on the second team.
