Bryant's Danielle Malta Named to Women's Soccer Scholar All-America Team

SMITHFIELD, RI -  Bryant University women's soccer standout Danielle Malta (Bethel, CT) has been named to the 2007 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) / adidas Women's Soccer Scholar Athlete First Team.  A total of 73 student-athletes from all divisions nationally were selected and will be honored at the NSCAA All-America luncheon January 19 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Malta, an All-American defender, holds a 3.68 GPA in Finance at Bryant University and helped lead the Bulldogs to their second-straight NCAA tournament appearance in 2007.  She started in all 23 contests this past season and was the backbone of a Bulldog defense that allowed just 21 goals all season.

In addition to earning All-America honors, Malta was named First Team All-Conference by the Northeast-10, All-Region and Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year.
