HAWKS BLANK BULLDOGS, 3-0, WEDNESDAY EVENING

HARTFORD, CT - Breeanna Robinson scored two goals to help lead Hartford past Bryant, 3-0, Wednesday night. The shutout loss was just the fourth time this season the Bulldogs had gone scoreless in a contest. The Hawks were held scoreless by the Bulldog defense through the first 38 minutes before Robinson struck with her first goal to give Hartford the 1-0 lead going into halftime.

Senior keeper Jessica Clark (Barnstable, Mass.)made two stops in the first 45 minutes while surrendering one goal. Classmate Jessica Neales (Swansea, Mass.)  played the second half, also stopping two shots while allowing two goals.

Hartford (8-5-4) put home an insurance goal just one minute into the second half when Laura Guigli found the back of the cage on an unassisted goal, putting the Hawks up 2-0. Robinson then added her second goal of the game in the 89th minute on an assist from Michelle Babin.

Bryant (3-9-3) outshot Hartford 11-10 in the contest, with freshman Kaitlyn Hinck (Bow, N.H.) putting three shots on goal. Junior Holly Tyser (Somers, Conn.) and sophomore Steph Del Mistro (East Williston, N.Y.) each had two shots. The Bulldogs also held the advantage on corner kicks 9-7, but could not capitalize against keeper Lauren Brodeur who made four stops on her way to the shutout. 

The Bulldogs will celebrate senior day Friday afternoon when they take on the Big Red from Cornell University at Bulldog Stadium (3 p.m.).
