WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYS SEASON FINALE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AT QUINNIPIAC

SMITHFIELD, RI- After defending their home turf on senior day with a, 1-0, win over Cornell, the Bulldogs get set to conclude their first ever season of Division I play as they take on the Bobcats of Quinnipiac University this afternoon in Hamden, Connecticut. Bryant (4-9-3) received a goal from sophomore defender Steph Del Mistro (East Williston, N.Y.) in the 80th minute of play to help lift them to the win, handing head coach Chris Flint his 100th victory with the Bulldog women's soccer program. Wednesday's game is a make-up from a match originally scheduled for September 28th that was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Scouting the Bobcats
Quinnipiac (7-5-2, 3-3-2 NEC) is coming off a weekend where they went 2-0, with wins over Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-1, and Sacred Heart, 3-0. Freshman forward Furtuna Velaj and sophomore defender Meagan McLoughlin had three goals and one assist apiece over the two contests, earning them both honors from the NEC. McLoughlin was named Brine/NEC Player of the Week and Velaj was awarded Brine/NEC Rookie of the week. This is the second to last game of the season for the Bobcats, as they will take on Central Connecticut State on Sunday, November 2.

Family Affair
Sophomore defender Steph Del Mistro will see a familiar face on the playing field as her younger sister, Kristina, is a freshman midfielder on the Bobcat soccer team. It will be the first time the sisters have played against each other. The two were teammates at the Wheatley School in high school.

Bulldogs in the Record Book
Sophomore Sarah Donovan (Storrs, Conn.) tied a Bulldog record by dishing out three assists in a, 3-1, win over NJIT on October 19. The last Bulldog to have three assists was Casey Grange in 2006. Other players to do so were Nicki Gradmaison, Allison Kelly, and Christine Kalukiewicz.

Goalkeeper Jessica Clark (Barnstable, Mass.) saved a Bryant single-game record 16 shots in a 3-3 tie against Brown last week.  The previous record was 13 on August 29, 2003 at Adelphi held by Kim Reckart.

Underclass Heroes
The Bulldogs have continued to see great contributions from underclassmen this season. Freshman Kaitlyn Hinck (Bow, N.H.) leads the team with eleven points, tallying six goals and one assist thus far including the game winning goals in all three wins for Bryant (3-2 over Northern Colorado, 3-2 over Wagner, and 3-1 over NJIT). Donovan is second on the team in points with 11, registering three goals and five assists, scoring the game-tying goal at Stony Brook earlier this year and putting home a goal against Brown. Brooke Duchaney (2g, 2a) is third on the team with six points along, finding the back of the net for the second time this season against NJIT with just 48 seconds to go in the contest. Freshman Kalie Whitehouse (Braintree, Mass.) recorded her first career goal in a loss at Northeastern earlier this season. Del Mistro has now scored two goals this season, the last being a game-winner against Cornell. The underclassmen have accounted for 30 of the 42 total points thus far this year for the Bulldogs.
