BRYANT UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S SOCCER ANNOUNCES 2008 DIVISION I SCHEDULE; NINE MEMBER CLASS OF 2012

The Bulldogs announce a nine-
player Class of 2012 as they
enter their first season in the
NCAA Division I ranks.

SMITHFIELD, RI -- Bryant University head women's soccer coach Chris Flint is pleased to announce the signing of nine student-athletes to enroll in the University this fall.

The Class of 2012 will be the first group of Bulldogs to spend all four years playing in the Division I ranks at Bryant, as the University begins its move up to the Northeast Conference and Division I play in 2008-09.

The 2008 Bulldogs will open their season and their new life in NCAA top-tier competition on Friday, August 22, when they take on Northern Colorado on the road.

Bryant will face off against top programs such as Wyoming (Aug, 24), George Washington University (Aug. 31), UMass Amherst (Sept. 10), Yale (Oct. 1), Brown (Oct. 8) and Dartmouth (Oct. 14) throughout the 2008-09 season, also competing against future NEC members Sacred Heart (Sept. 26), Quinnipiac (Sept. 28) and Wagner (Oct. 5) before the Bulldogs wrap up their schedule their only regular-season home game, a 3 p.m. bout with Cornell on Friday, Oct. 24.

Bryant enters Division I coming off a strong 2007-08 campaign in which the Bulldogs posted a 17-2-5 overall record (11-0-3 in NE-10 play), finishing second in both the regular season and the conference tournament. The Bulldogs hosted the NCAA Regional, advancing to the tournament's second round.
