WOMEN'S SOCCER OPENS NORTHEAST CONFERENCE PLAY FRIDAY NIGHT AT 7 PM

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - After a 12-day layoff, the Bryant women's soccer team opens Northeast Conference (NEC) play Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. under the lights of the Bryant Turf Complex against Central Connecticut.

The Bulldogs are looking to improve on their 2-5 record against the Blue Devils (3-5-1), who qualified for last year's NCAA tournament.  The team has come alive in the last two games scoring four total goals, which matches their total after the first five games. The Bulldogs have also accumulated 47 shots in two games after only firing 42 in the previous five combined.

Leading the way for the squad are freshman Morgan Derick (Ashland, Mass.) and sophomore Kaitlyn Hinck (Bow, N.H.). Derick has a team-high five points on the season (2 goals, 1 assist) while Hinck is second on the team in points with four, coming off two goals. The Bulldogs play 10 of their last 11 games against NEC opponents.

The conference matchup will be broadcast live at www.bryantbulldogs.tv
