WOMEN'S SOCCER FACES OFF AGAINST SAINT PETER'S COLLEGE TONIGHT AT 7PM
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - After losing its past two contests in dramatic fashion, the Bryant University women's soccer team looks to get back on track tonight against the Saint Peter's College Peahens at 7 p.m. under the lights of the Bryant Turf Complex.
The Bulldogs (1-4) last took to the pitch in Fairfield, Conn. on Tuesday against Fairfield University where they were defeated, 3-1, including goals netted just before the end of each half. The Bulldogs lone goal of the match came from freshman defender Carolyn Giuliano (Wethersfield, Conn.) in the 74th minute. Giuliano was able to head the ball off the crossbar and down into the net from a Holly Tyser (Somers, Conn.) corner kick.
Last Friday, the women hosted the University of Maine in a game that was delayed approximately 40 minutes for lightning. The Bulldogs battled but fell short in the end, losing on a Black Bears' overtime goal.
Tonight's opponent, the Saint Peter's College Peahens, are 2-4 with their two wins coming against Wagner and the Bulldog's next opponent, NJIT.
