In 2010, Maciel assisted the team to finishing seventh in the Northeast Conference, one above the preseason coaches' poll prediction. The team finised the season with a record of 5-13-2.
In 2009, the Bulldogs' first full season with a Northeast Conference schedule, she guided the squad to four wins overall and two in the NEC. However, the Bulldogs were in most of their games as they lost nine games by one goal including three in overtime and tied two. Bryant’s four wins came against Hartford, Saint Peter’s, Sacred Heart and Robert Morris.
Before returning to her alma mater, Maciel spent two years as the head women's soccer coach at Dean College. Previously the assistant coach, Maciel took over the head position in December of 2004. Under her tutelage, the program saw 12 players receive all-region honors and two players were named Dean College Female Athlete of the Year.
Maciel has established a name for herself in both the club and
Olympic Development programs in Rhode Island. This fall she will
enter her 10th season with RI ODP and 1st as the Girls Director of
Coaching. The past eight seasons, Maciel has worked with
several different age groups and has also trained goalkeepers.
For the past nine years, she has also held many positions
within the RI club soccer scene, working with RI Rays
and Bayside FC before finding a home as the Director of
Coaching for Tidal Wave SC. At Tidal Wave, Maciel oversees all the
clubs teams and runs the academy program. She currently holds her
USSF "D" and NSCAA National Diploma.
At Bryant, Maciel was the recipient of the Northeast-10 Conference
Rookie of the Week and NE-10 Player of the Week awards in her
freshman and junior years. In her tenure as a player at
Bryant, her team appeared in two conference tournaments and
was the first squad in program history to qualify for the NCAA
Tournament, accomplished in 2001. Maciel graduated from Bryant
in 2004 with a degree in marketing.
Originally from Townsend, Mass., Maciel currently resides in East Providence, R.I. with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Mary-Kate.
