WOMEN ROLL OVER BRIDGEWATER, 153-96, STAY PERFECT WITH WEDNESDAY NIGHT WIN
BRIDGEWATER, MASS. -- The Bryant University men's and women's swim teams both continued their untarnished seasons with a set of wins over Bridgewater State on the road Wednesday night. The men swam to a 161.5-118.5 victory, while the women walked away with a 153-96 win in the dual meet.
The women took first-place finishes in all but two events Wednesday night, with freshman Jill Squillante (Sayville, NY) leading the way. Her three wins -- in the 50-yard backstroke (29.19), the 50-yard freestyle (26.68) and the 100-yard freestyle (56.88) -- were matched only by sophomore standout Jess Looney (Goffstown, NH).
Looney led off the meet with the first leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay, and stuck to her winning ways in the individual events, claiming top times in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.98), the 500-yard freestyle (5:21.88) and the 200-yard IM (2:15.70).
The men and women compete again, Saturday, Jan. 19, when they
travel to Adelphi University to face the Panthers in a 1:00 p.m.
dual meet.
