WOMEN TOP SAINT ROSE, 117-82, TO STAY PERFECT IN 2007-08 SEASON
SMITHFIELD, RI -- The men's and women's swim teams each took a victory from Saint Rose Saturday afternoon at the Chace Athletic Center Pool to remain unbeaten early in the 2007-08 campaign. The men took away a 117-80 win while the women trumped the Golden Knights, 117-82.
Sophomore Jess Looney (Goffstown, NH) and freshman Jill Squillante (Sayville, NY) combined for five wins in Saturday's in-conference dual meet. Squillante won the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.76) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.67), while Looney swam to a trio of wins in the 400-yard IM (4:49.01), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.17) and the 1650-yard freestyle (18:57.29). The victory moved the women to 7-0 on the year.
Both the men and the women next compete in the Northeast-10s, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Times are to be announced.
