WOMEN'S SWIMMING FOURTH AFTER DAY 2 OF NE-10 CHAMPIONSHIPS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bryant men's and women's swim teams are currently fourth overall after the second day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships Saturday night at Southern Connecticut State University. The women have 298.5 points, trailing Southern Connecticut (538), Le Moyne (534.5) and Bentley College (377). The men have 364 points, also good for fourth through 40 events, trailing Southern Connecticut (531), Bentley College (422) and Le Moyne (368).
On the women's side, Jess Looney took home two second-place finishes, first in the 400-yard IM in a time of 4:39.17, making the national "B" cut, then in the 200-yard backstroke at a 2:11.01 mark. Freshman Jill Squillante took seventh in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.77) while teammate Amy Howell, Jill Hira and Lisa Zanchi teamed up with Looney to help the Bulldogs to a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The conference championships continue Sunday.
