WOMEN'S SWIMMING FINISHES FOURTH IN NORTHEAST-10 CHAMPIONSHIP
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Bryant men's and women's swim teams finished fourth overall in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships that concluded Sunday night at Southern Connecticut State University. The women ended the three-day event with 448.5 points, trailing Southern Connecticut (905), Le Moyne (875.5) and Bentley College (608). The men finished with 552 points, trailing Southern Connecticut (900.5), Bentley College (698) and Le Moyne (581.5).
In the last day of the weekend-long meet, it was sophomore Jess
Looney and freshman Jill Squillante who led the women's side to
their fourth-place finish. Looney owned the best women's finish of
the day, taking second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:13.09,
while Squillante took sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.91)
and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (56.69). Squiallante and
Looney teamed up with freshmen Amy Howell and Jill Hira for a
fourth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of
3:50.86.
