WOMEN'S SWIMMING ADDS FOUR NEWCOMERS TO 2008 ROSTER

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University women's swimming coach Katie Cameron will welcome four freshman standouts to campus when preseason camp opens later this summer.  The Bulldogs, who will be competing in their first Division I season this fall, are coming off a tremendous season in 2007. 

The Bulldogs posted an undefeated record of 12-0 and placed fourth at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.  The Bulldogs will return 15 letterwinners from last year's squad including junior standout Jessica Looney who was named the Swimmer of the Meet at last year's New England Championships.  Bryant placed third overall as a team at the championships.

Julie Moran, Fr., Freestyle (Framingham, MA / Framingham North)
Sprint freestyle (50, 100) standout from Framingham, MA ... Placed sixth in the 50-yard free at the 2007 Massachusetts State Swimming & Diving Championships ... Also placed 11^th in the 100-yard free style at the state championships.

Team-captain as a junior and senior ...  Four-time MIAA Sectional Finalist and MIAA State Finalist  .... Holds three varsity school record: 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard free relay, 400-yard free relay .... MIAA State Champion in  200-yard  medley and 200-yard free relay as a sophomore and junior ... MIAA Sectional Champion in the 200 medley relay (sophomore) and three-time section champion in 200 free relay (freshman, sophomore and junior) ... Helped lead Bishop Stang to Southern Conference Championship in 2004 (D2) and 2007 (D1) ... Four-time State Runners-up.
