Women's Tennis Defeats Assumption 8-1

SMITHFIELD, RI. - The Bryant University women's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over Assumption in Northeast-10 Conference match this afternoon.

Sophomore Sacha Solomon (Bourne, Mass./Bourne), the ITA East Regional Champion, posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Assumption’s Allie Leber at No. 1 singles and teamed with classmate Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Conn./Bacon Academy) for an 8-0 decision at No. 1 doubles. Jervasi also collected a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles.

With the win, Bryant (18-1, 12-0 NE-10) captures its second-straight Northeast-10 Conference regular-season title and will begin defense of its 2004 Northeast-10 Conference tournament title this Wednesday when Bryant plays host to the conference tournament this week.
