MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Bryant University women’s tennis team improved to 13-1 overall and remained unbeaten (7-0) in Northeast-10 Conference play following a 9-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire University here today. SNHU dropped to 3-3 overall and 2-3 in the league.
Sophomore Sacha Solomon (Bourne, MA) improved to 12-1 at first singles for Bryant following a 6-1, 6-1 victory over freshman Juliet Verhofstad (Plymouth, , NH). Solomon teamed up with classmate Annette Jervasi (Colchester, CT) to post an 8-3 victory over Verhofstad and sophomore Michelle Saggese (Armonk,NY) and first doubles. Junior Alex Spence (Lynnfield, MA) recorded a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Saggese at No. 2 singles, while Jervasi downed freshman Amanda Nason (Center Sandwich, NH) 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Freshman Michelle Burke (Barrington, RI), junior Alanna Santanello (North Providence, RI) and senior Sasha Garabedian (Scituate, RI) also posted singles wins for Bryant.
Both teams return to league Thursday (4/7). SNHU travels to American International College, while Bryant hosts Bentley College.
