Women's Tennis Concludes Another Successful Season With Fourth-Straight Trip To NCAA's; Burke Named NE-10 Player of the Week
CALIFORNIA, PA - The Bryant women's tennis team fell to host California PA in the second round of the 2007 Division II Women's Tennis Championships Saturday afternoon. Junior Michelle Burke of Barrington, RI was named the NE-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week after guiding the Bulldogs past Queens with wins at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles.

Women's Tennis Defeats Queens NY 5-3 In NCAA First Round Friday
CALIFORNIA, Pa. - The Bryant University women's tennis team picked up a big 5-3 win over Queens (NY) Friday morning in first round action at the 2007 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship. The Bulldogs will advance to face the winner of the California (PA) / Holy Family match in the second round on Saturday at 10 a.m. Bryant is making its fourth-straight trip to the NCAA tournament.

Women's Tennis Headed Back to NCAA Tournament For Fourth Time
CALIFORNIA, PA - California’s Roadman Park tennis courts will be the site of a four-team NCAA East Regional Tournament May 4-5, featuring top-seeded California, Pa. (25-1), fourth-seeded Queens, N.Y. (13-5), fifth-seeded Bryant (14-5) and eighth-seeded Holy Family (17-3). Queens and Bryant will battle in the opening match, beginning at 10 a.m., followed by the California vs. Holy Family clash at 2 p.m. The winners will advance to Saturday’s second round 1 p.m.

Jervasi Named First Team All-Conference by the Northeast-10
SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University senior Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Conn.) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference First Team for No. 2 singles the conference announced. Jervasi was a second-team all-conference and sportsmanship award winner in 2005 and has posted a perfect 12-0 record at No. 2 this season. Her overall record in conference play is 41-3 (57-14 overall) during her four-year career.

Bryant Women's Tennis Headed To NCAA Tournament for Fourth-Straight Time
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's tennis team, champions of the Northeast-10 Conference for the fourth-consecutive year, will take part in the 2007 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship this week. The Bulldogs, making their fourth all-time appearance, will travel to California, Pa. to face Queens (NY) College on Friday, May 4 starting at 10 a.m.

EASTON, Mass. - The Bryant University women's tennis team captured its fourth-straight Northeast-10 Conference tournament championship Sunday, defeating top-seed Saint Michael's 5-3 in the final. Bryant entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed and proceeded to knock off the No. 2 (Bentley) and the No. 1 team in the tourney. The Bulldogs rallied back from down 2-1 after doubles to earn the automatic bid into the NCAA Championships.

Women's Tennis Advances to Northeast-10 Championship with 5-4 Victory over Bentley College
EASTON, Mass.-- The third-ranked and three-time defending tournament champion Bryant will play for the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Tennis Championship on Sunday morning after advancing with a 5-4 victory over second-ranked Bentley College Saturday. Saint Michael’s advanced with a 5-2 victory over fourth-seeded Stonehill in the first semi-final of the day. Senior Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Conn.) posted the deciding point in the second semi-final match for Bryant (13-5), as she posted a three-set win at number two singles spot to lift the Bulldogs into the title contest. Sunday’s title match will begin at 11:00 a.m. on the Stonehill Courts. Bryant won the 2006 crown with a 5-4 triumph over Stonehill.

Women's Tennis Advances to Conference Semifinals With 5-0 Win over Saint Anselm
SMITHFIELD, RI – The Bryant women’s tennis team, ranked third in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament defeated sixth-seeded Saint Anselm 5-0 Thursday afternoon. With the victory, the Bulldogs advance to the semifinals where they will take on second-ranked Bentley College Saturday (3:30 p.m.) at Stonehill College. Playing in their final matches at home, seniors Sacha Solomon and Annette Jervasi won their doubles match 8-4, while Solomon dominated her singles match winning 6-4, 6-1. Michelle Burke also won her singles match 6-2, 6-1 to close out the contest.

The Bulldogs got a win at No. 6 singles as Heather Fedesco held off Jacklyn Kelly in singles play. Sacha Solomon fell to Emily Murphy 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while Annette Jervasi fell to Iida Hokkanen. The Bulldogs will face Queens and Slippery Rock on Saturday weather permitting.

The Bulldogs rode the strong play of its No. 1 and No. 2 senior tandem of Sacha Solomon (Bourne, Mass.) and Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Mass.) and picked up a pair of default victories to improve to 11-2 overall on the season and 11-1 in the NE-10.

Senior Sacha Solomon (Bourne, Mass.) rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles while classmate Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Conn.) was a straight-set winner at No. 2, winning handily 6-0, 6-0.

Women Cruise to 8-1 Victory Over Pace in East Hartford
Barbara Cilli's Bryant tennis squad got off to a good start in their first match of the spring semester with a 8-1 victory over Pace Sunday. The Bulldogs swept the doubles play and won five of the six singles matches. The surprise of the day was Natalija Subotic's victory over Sacha Solomon in the #1 singles matchup. The loss was Solomon's first NE-10 loss in her spectacular career

Jervasi and Solomon a Dynamic Duo on and off the Court
It feels like yesterday to the two girls as they remember moving into Bryant the first day of freshman year. They recall moving all of their belongings, packed in suitcases and plastic bins, to the fourth floor of Hall 15, covering the cinderblock walls with photos of their friends and family, and the mixed emotions that filled their minds as they met the girls next door and said goodbye to their parents.

Women's Tennis Signs Cranston Standout for 2007-08
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University is pleased to announce the signing of Cranston’s Katie Francazio. Francazio will join the class of 2011 and will attend Bryant University beginning in the fall of 2007. The announcement was made by Athletic Director Bill Smith and Women’s Tennis Coach Barbara Cilli.
