JERVASI NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE BY THE NORTHEAST-10

 
Senior Annette Jervasi of Colchester, Conn. was named First Team All-Conference after posting a 12-0 conference record in 2007.

SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University senior Annette Jervasi (Colchester, Conn.) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference First Team for No. 2 singles the conference announced.  Jervasi was a second-team all-conference and sportsmanship award winner in 2005 and has posted a perfect 12-0 record at No. 2 this season.  Her overall record in conference play is 41-3 (57-14 overall) during her four-year career. 

Junior Heather Fedesco (Rocky Hill, Conn.) was named second-team all-conference at No. 6 singles while senior Sacha Solomon (Bourne, Mass.) was named third-team at No. 1.  Solomon, the three-time Player of the Year in the conference and NE-10 Freshman of the Year in 2004, went 10-2 in NE-10 play this year at No. 1 and posted a remarkable 44-2 career record in conference competition - all at No. 1 singles. 

Solomon and Jervasi were also recognized as first-team honorees at No. 1 doubles while Lauren Mullen (Braintree, Mass.) and Michelle Burke (Barrington, RI) were named second team all-conference doubles at No. 2 and Kristen Swanson (West Newbury, Mass.) and Fedesco were named third-team all-conference at No. 3. 

Bryant captured its fourth-straight Northeast-10 Conference Championship April 22 with a 5-3 win over top-seed Saint Michael's.   The Bulldogs will face Queens (NY) this Friday, May 4 at 10 a.m. in first round action at the NCAA Division II Championships at California, Pa.
