BRYANT PLACES 65 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON NEC ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
SOMERSET, NJ – A total of 65 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, including nine earning Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction. In addition, men’s tennis junior Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) and women’s tennis senior Chelsea Downing (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) were recognized as NEC Spring Scholar-Athletes for 2010.

BRYANT TENNIS TAKES PART IN USTA CAMPUS KIDS DAY
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – It was a picture-perfect afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Courts on April 15. Not only were the Bryant University men’s and women’s tennis team’s on their way to 7-0 victories over the University of Hartford, but they had a few extra fans on hand to cheer on the Bulldogs.

BRYANT WOMEN'S TENNIS DOWNS HARTFORD 7-0 WEDNESDAY
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s tennis team wrapped up the 2009-10 season in style with a 7-0 win over the University of Hartford Wednesday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Courts Complex. The Bulldogs swept all three doubles matches to open and followed with a strong showing in singles play to pick up the win.

SAN JUAN, P.R. – The Bryant University women’s tennis team picked up a 7-0 win over the University of Puerto Rico – Rio Piedras Monday in the first match of their Spring Break trip. The Bulldogs got a strong performance at No. 1 singles as Claudia Hidalgo defeated Maria Pacheco 6-2, 6-1 while Valeria Couto Cuervo knocked off Carol Fernandez 6-4, 6-4.
The Bulldogs will face East Carolina Tuesday and Buffalo Thursday.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Sacred Heart Saturday evening at Rally Point as the Pioneers took the doubles point to start the match and took five of six singles to earn the win. Chelsea Downing and Irma Rodriguez Lockwood played very well at No. 2 doubles, leading late in the match before the Pioneers pulled away for an 8-6 win.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University is pleased to announce the signing of student-athletes May Vickers (Montrose, Colorado) and Stephanie Smyers (Pittsburg, Pa.) to National Letters of Intent to enroll and participate in intercollegiate women’s tennis at the school in the fall of 2010.
