Bulldog freshmen impressive at Sacred Heart Invite

WOMEN'S TENNIS OPENS 2013 FALL SEASON WITH STRONG SHOWING AT SACRED HEART INVITATIONAL

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In their first ever collegiate action ever, freshmen duo Ryan Brown (Austin, Texas) and Marion Bouillin (San Diego, Calif.) of the Bryant University women's tennis team, put on a show at number one doubles at the Sacred Heart Doubles Invitational, Saturday in Fairfield, Conn.

The number one doubles tandem finished 3-2 on the afternoon en route to an extremely impressive performance to open the 2013 fall season. In their first match, Boullin and Brown took care of Alana Prinos and Maria Bernardez of Providence in convincing fashion, 8-2, before topping Maxie Weinberg/Emma Alderman of UConn, 8-3. In their final match of the day, the freshmen pairing squeaked out an impressive 8-6 victory over Quinnipiac's Jacqueline Raynor and Sophia Dzulynsky.

At number three doubles, Jovana Hadzi-Tanovic (Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro) and Lyan Juarbe (Guarbo, Puerto Rico) picked up a pair of victories over Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac, while freshman Jenna LaBarre (Smithfield, R.I.) and sophomore Mariah Korn (Tiverton, R.I.) earned wins over Fairfield and Sacred Heart at the no. four doubles spot.

The Bulldogs continue their fall season when they head to Worcester, Mass., to take on the Crusaders.
