SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the second-straight season, the Bryant University women's tennis team earned one of the top-four spots in the Northeast Conference Tennis Championships, garnering the #3 overall seed and the right to battle #6 Robert Morris, Thursday in West Windsor, N.J.
Last season in Bryant's first year of Division I postseason eligibility, they secured the #4 overall seed after going 4-1 against conference opponents. This season however, the 7-9 Black and Gold earn their highest ever NEC Championship seeding with the #3 overall rank after playing one of its most difficult schedules to date.
Led by its freshmen phenoms Marion Bouillin (San Diego, Calif.) and Ryan Brown (Austin, Texas), and veteran leaders Stephanie Smyers (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Rosie Bird (Hamilton, New Zealand) and Devlin-Ann Ammendola (Massapequa, N.Y.), Bryant is primed for a promising run at the NEC Title.
The Bulldogs will have their opportunity when they square off with #6 Robert Morris at Mercer County Park Thursday afternoon.
