Bryant Volleyball Sweeps Honors

Three Bryant volleyball players earned weekly Northeast-10 Conference honors this week, led by Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) who was named the NE-10 Conference Player of the Week. The junior outside hitter led Bryant to three wins over the weekend at the University of Puerto Rico Tournament with 58 kills and 45 digs. Muniz, the 2003 Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, had 22 kills offensively in Bryant's 3-1 win over Puerto Rico - Cayey.

Freshman Jessica Henson of Bedford, Texas earned her first conference honor of the season in being named the NE-10 Freshman of the Week for Aug. 30. Henson, a 5-10 outside hitter had 36 kills and hit .269 offensively in four matches. She had eight kills and four blocks in the win over Cayey.

Carola Pierluisi, a native of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, earned NE-10 Honor Roll distinction with 90 digs defensively for Bryant in the four matches. Pierluisi is coming off a record breaking season in 2003 that saw her set the school record for digs in a season and earned all-America honors as well. Pierluisi is the only Bryant senior on this year's team.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday at Saint Rose and Sunday with a trip to Le Moyne.
