Muniz Named Player of Year

Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, P.R.) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and senior Carola Pierluisi (Guaynabo, P.R.) was named the Ne-10 Libero of the Year for the second year in a row as the conference announced the all-conference teams for 2004.

Muniz helped lead the Bulldogs to the NE-10 title with 30 kills in last Saturday's win over Bentley in the conference final. She has 574 kills this season and has recorded at least 500 kills in each of her three seasons at Bryant.
Pierluisi, named the NE-10 Player of the Week on Monday, set a new school record with 764 digs this season and has been ranked in the top-10 nationally all season for digs per game.
Henson has been named Freshman of the Week seven times this season and is second on the team with 369 kills and 309 digs this season. Garry has 1,470 assists this year and has been tough with a team-best 91 service aces.
Freshman Jessica Henson (Bedford, TX) was named the conference Freshman of the Year and freshman Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) was named the conference Setter of the Year. Muniz and Pierluisi were each named first team all-conference with Garry earning second team all-conference distinction. Henson joined sophomore Jessica Cegarra (Danville, N.H.) on the all-conference third team.
