Volleyball Picks Up Win at Stonehill

EASTON, Mass.-- Junior Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, P.R.) notched 10 kills and 12 digs as Bryant clinched the 2004 Northeast-10 Conference regular season volleyball championship with a 3-0 league triumph over Stonehill by game scores of 30-18, 30-19 and 30-22 in a match played at Merkert Gymnasium.

Sophomore Jessica Cegarra (Danville, N.H.) added seven kills and senior Carola Pierluisi (Guaynabo, P.R.) added 18 digs in the triumph for the visiting Bulldogs (30-5, 13-0 Northeast-10), who also received 38 set assists from freshman Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, Ill.).

Junior Kathleen Riley (Melrose, Mass.) collected seven kills and 14 digs in the setback for the host Chieftains (11-14, 6-7 Northeast-10), who also received 10 digs from freshman Rebekah Saunders (Gilford, N.H.) and 10 set assists and eight digs from junior Mollie Babcock (Gilford, N.H.).

Both teams close out their regular season slates this weekend in hosting Saint Michael's in Northeast-10 outings, as Bryant entertains the Purple Knights on Friday evening in Smithfield, R.I. at 7:00 p.m. looking to complete an undefeated mark in conference regular season play.
