Volleyball Splits Two On The Road Saturday

BROOKVILLE, NY - The Bryant women's volleyball team had its 10 match win streak snapped Saturday as the Bulldogs split a pair of non-conference matches. The Bulldogs fell to NYIT 3-2 in the first match but rallied back to defeat C.W. Post 3-0 in the second.
Against NYIT of the NYCAC Conference, the Bulldogs fell behind 2-0 early to the Bears. Bryant did lead 25-20 in the second game only to watch NYIT rattle off 10 unanswered points to win 30-25.
Behind 17 kills from Michelle Muniz, the Bulldogs came back to win the next two 30-25, 30-27 to force a fifth game. In the fifth, Bryant jumped out to an 8-3 lead but couldn't hold on as NYIT held on for a 15-9 win to capture the match.
Lindsay Klix had 10 kills and three blocks while Tiffany Garry added 50 assists. Carola Pierluisi had 26 digs defensively. Jessica Henson and Jessica Cegarra each added eight kills for the Bulldogs.
In the second match, Bryant came back to roll to a 3-0 win over C.W. Post as Muniz and Henson each had nine kills to lead Bryant. Game scores were 30-24, 30-12, 30-19.
The Bulldogs (18-3) will return to Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday when they visit American International for a 7 p.m. match.
