Bryant Sweeps Day 1 of Invitational

SMITHFIELD, RI ? The Bryant University women?s volleyball swept the first day of the Bryant Invitational today, winning both the their matches in quick fashion, 3-0 over Teikyo Post and Mercy respectively.
In the first match of the day Bryant swept Teikyo Post 30-11, 30-10, and 30-22. Bryant was lead by senior libero Carola Pierluisi (San Juan, PR) who had 25 digs in the match. Freshman outside hitter Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH) had 15 attacks and 9 kills as well as fellow freshman outside hitter Jessica Henson (Bedford, TX) having 12 attacks and 7 kills.
In the second match Bryant swept Mercy 30-22, 30-24, and 30-26. With the wins Bryant?s record improves to 14-2. Pierluisi who had 33 digs again led the Bulldogs. Junior outside hitter Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, PR) had 39 attacks and 19 kills. Henson also chipped in with 25 attacks and 15 kills.
Bryant will return to action tomorrow in day 2 of the Invitational. They will play AIC at 12:00Pm and Saint Anselm at 2:00PM at the Chace Athletic Center.
