Bulldogs Sweep Bentley Tournament - Muniz MVP

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Bryant women's volleyball team improved to 9-1 over the weekend with a 3-0 sweep at the Bentley College tournament here on Friday and Saturday. The Bulldogs defeated Wilmington 3-0 on Friday and followed with a 3-0 win over Mercy and 3-1 win over East Stroudsburg on Saturday.

Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) was named tournament MVP after recording 23 kills and 20 digs in the win over East Stroudsburg and also chipped in with 18 kills in the 3-0 win over Mercy.
Sophomore Jessica Cegarra (Danville, N.H.) had 18 kills against East Stroudsburg while freshman Jessica Henson (Bedford, TX) had 10 kills and 10 digs. Henson was named the all-tournament team for her efforts which included a 12 kill - 10 dig performance against Mercy.
Freshman setter Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) played well with 55 assists against East Stroudsburg and 45 against Mercy.
Carola Pierluisi (Guaynabo, P.R.) had a fanstastic weekend with 64 digs in two matches. Pierluisi set a new personal best with 38 digs against East Stroudsburg - three shy of Monica Carnevalini's school-best of 41. Pierluisi has 199 digs this season.
The Bulldogs will make a return trip to Bentley on Tuesday for a Northeast-10 Conference match with the Falcons starting at 7 p.m.
