Bulldogs Post 3-0 Win Over Penmen

MANCHESTER, N.H. (Sept. 21, 2004) The Bryant University volleyball team remained unbeaten in Northeast-10 Conference play (5-0) and improved to 12-2 overall following a 3-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire University tonight at the SNHU Fieldhouse. SNHU, which had won five of its last six matches, fell to 5-5 overall and 4-2 in the league.

Bryant outlasted SNHU 30-25 in game one, as the Bulldogs broke open a close game (23-23) by scoring seven of the final nine points. Bryant completed the sweep with wins of 30-17 and 30-26 in games two and three.

Junior Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, PR) paced the Bulldogs with 13 kills and 10 digs, while freshman Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) dished out 42 assists. Senior Carola Pierluisi (Guaynabo, PR) added a team-high 15 digs for Bryant, while sophomore Jess Cagarra (Danville, NH) recorded four blocks.

Senior Lise Laczek (Cheshire, CT) and juniors Deanna Guenther (Appolo, PA) and Brittany Porter (Riverton, WY) all recorded seven kills for the Penmen, while Laczek also added 15 digs. Senior Kristin Ellis (Belmont, NH) dished out 15 assists and also added six digs, while classmate Lauren Enny (Longmont, CO) totaled a team-high 16 digs.The Bulldogs will host the Bryant Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Chace Athletic Center.
