Volleyball Wins 17th Tuesday Night

SMITHFIELD, RI ? The Bryant women?s volleyball stayed undefeated in Northeast-10 Conference play with a 3-0 win over visiting Saint Anselm Tuesday night at the Chace Athletic Center. Game scores were 30-24, 30-17, 30-18.

With the win, Bryant?s sixth-straight, the Bulldogs improve to 17-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play. Saint Anselm drops to 7-9 and 5-2 in league.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs offensively was Michelle Muniz (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico). The junior outside hitter led the way with one of her best matches of the season with 21 kills on 28 swings, hitting .678 offensively. Muniz also had a strong hand defensively with 14 digs and five blocks on the night while also tallying a career-high eight service aces.
Sophomore middle hitter Jessica Cegarra (Danville, N.H.) added 10 kills while freshman setter Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL), the conference setter of the week, had 28 assists in a pair of games played.
Saint Anselm was led by Aimee Young?s (West Springfield, Mass.) 10 kills and two blocks while Kristin Collins (Walpole, Mass) added nine kills for the Hawks. Kathleen McCarthy (Quincy, Mass.) added 26 assists and eight digs while teammate Karen Lyons (Bourne, Mass.) played well defensively as she chipped in with 15 digs.
Bryant will travel to Brookville, N.Y. this Saturday to face N.Y.I.T. (10:00 am) and C.W. Post (12:30 pm) for a pair of non-conference matches.
