Volleyball's Monika Sattler In China On Study-Abroad
Volleyball junior Monika Sattler is currently in China through the Bryant University study abroad program. She currently visited the Great Wall of China with her tour group and will return to the U.S. later this summer. The Bulldog volleyball team will report to preseason camp in mid-August in preparation for the 2007 opener Aug. 31 at the Lewis University Invitational in Romeoville, Ill.

Cegarra and Perry Receive Jim Thorpe Awards At Intecultural Center Awards Banquet
SMITHFIELD, RI - On March 31, the Intercultural Center at Bryant continued a tradition with the sixth annual Senior Awards Banquet. Fourteen seniors were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the Bryant community over the last four years. Included were Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH) and Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI). Each were recipients of the 2007 ICC Jim Thorpe Athletic Award.

Cegarra and Garry named to 2006 Daktronics Northeast All-Region Volleyball Teams
Senior Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH) and junior Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) were named to the 2006 Daktronics Northeast All-Region Volleyball teams this week. Cegarra garnered first team recognition while Garry was named to the second team. Cegarra had a record breaking season to close out her time as a member of the Bulldogs. She finished her career with 534 career blocks, No.1 all-time at Bryant. She was also Bryant's primary offensive threat, leading the Bulldog's in kills with 529. She led Bryant in points this season with 619.0. Garry again was the team's primary setter. She finished the season with 1,454 sets, averaging just under 11 per a game. She also led Bryant in serving aces with 86.

Former Player Maria Bras-Benitez, Class of 1995 Elected to NE-10 Hall of Fame
Former Bryant volleyball player Maria Bras-Benitez was elected to the Northeast-10's Hall of Fame today. Bras, who played for for Bryant from 1991-1995, was among the greatest players in school history. She was a the Bryant female athlete of the year in 1994 and 1995 and led the Bulldogs to the round of 16 in the 1994 NCAA Tournament. She finished her career with 2,045 career kills and was the first player in school history with more than 1,500.

BRYANT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SIGNS FOUR STUDENT ATHLETES TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT
Smithfield, R.I.- The Bryant University Department of Athletics is proud to announce the signing of four student-athletes to national letters of intent to enroll and participate in intercollegiate women's volleyball at the university in the fall of 2007. The announcement was made today by Director of Athletics Bill Smith and Head Coach Theresa Garlacy.

Volleyball Falls to Bentley 3-0 in NCAA Regional First Round
WEST HAVEN, CT - Senior Vanessa Lavallee had nine kills and freshman Morgan Wood added seven but it was not enough as the Bulldogs saw its 2006 season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to Bentley College in the first round of the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. Senior Jessica Cegarra had seven kills and added four blocks as the Bulldogs finish the year 21-19.

Bryant Volleyball Ready For NCAA Tournament
SMITHFIELD, RI For the tenth time in the program's history, the Bryant University volleyball team is headed to the NCAA tournament. In fact, postseason trips have become the norm for the Bulldogs in recent years. This Thursdays first round matchup will mark the seventh-straight time Bryant coach Theresa Garlacy has led her team to the NCAA Regional. Bryant (21-18) will be the No. 7 seed of the 2006 Northeast Regional and will square off with the second-seeded Falcons at 5 p.m. Thursday at the University of New Haven. This will be the third meeting of the year between Bryant and Bentley and the second since the two teams met in the Northeast-10 Conference semifinals last Saturday at Bryant, won by Bentley by a score of 3-1.

Bryant Volleyball Headed Back to NCAA Tournament
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team is headed back to the NCAA tournament. For the 10th time in school history, the Bulldogs will take part in the NCAA Regional tournament when the Bulldogs travel to West Haven, Conn. this Thursday where they'll face Bentley College in the quarterfinals. Bentley defeated Bryant 3-1 in the NE-10 semifinals on Saturday. The University of New Haven will serve as the hosts of the tournament.

Bentley Captures Northeast-10 Title; Bulldogs Await NCAA Word Sunday Night
SMITHFIELD,RI - The Bentley College Falcons won its record ninth Northeast-10 Conference Championship Saturday, defeating top-seed Saint Rose, 3-0. Bryant, which fell to Bentley in the semifinals, will find out if they qualify for the NCAA tournament when the NCAA pairings are announced Sunday night. Bryant is currently sixth in the region.

The Bentley Falcons defeated the Bulldogs volleyball team in four games (24-30, 30-21, 25-30, 27-30). The win sets up a matchup of the tournament's top two seeds, #1 Saint Rose and #2 Bentley tonight at the Chace Center. The match will begin at 7:00pm.

Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball Tournament - First Round
SMITHFIELD, RI - The 2006 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball tournament got underway Friday evening at the Chace Athletic Center. Hosted by Bryant University, the top three seeds of the tournament advanced to the semifinal round with the lone upset coming in the evening session when No. 5 Le Moyne knocked off No. 4 UMass Lowell, 3-1. Top-seed Saint Rose defeated Merrimack 3-0 while No. 2 seed Bentley rolled past Pace, 3-0. Bryant, the No. 3 seed defeated Franklin Pierce, 3-1. The semifinal matchups will feature Saint Rose vs. Le Moyne and Bentley vs. Bryant. Both start at 2 pm with the winners advancing to the championship match at 7 pm.

SMITHFIELD, RI - Seedings for the 2006 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball tournament have been announced for this weekend's tournament which will run Friday and Saturday at the Chace Athletic Center. Volleyball Wins Regular Season Finale 3-0 over Assumption
SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant Volleyball team closed out its regular season defeating Assumption College in straight sets Tuesday night 30-20, 30-16, 30-24 at the Chace Center. LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Bryant womens volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to 14th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona to wrap up the 2006 Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego Saturday. Bryant (0-5) was led by Likica Grceva who paced the Bryant attack with 11 kills. The transfer from Maryland Eastern Shore hit .296 with just three errors on 27 swings. Sophomore defensive standout Maureen Atkins (Fenton, MO) added 13 digs while junior setter Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) had 27 assists. Bryant will travel to CW Post on Long Island for a two-day tournament next weekend.

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team reported to school over the week and have been busy preparing for the upcoming 2006 season. The Bulldogs, under the direction of 11th-year coach Theresa Garlacy open the season August 24th at the UC San Diego Invitational in La Jolla, Calif against Cal State Los Angeles. The Bulldogs were 27-10 last season, capturing the Northeast-10 Conference tournament title for the third-straight season and advancing to the NCAA Division II tournament for the seventh consecutive year.

Garry Named NE-10 Setter of the Year
EASTON, Mass. - Bryant University standout sophomore setter Tiffany Garry has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Year for 2005. Garry, the setter of the year as a freshman in 2004, has 1,466 assists this season and 103 service aces. Muniz, Bryant's all-time career kills leader, was named player of the year for the second straight year.

Volleyball Concludes Regular Season With 3-0 Win at Assumption
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Bryant University volleyball team ended its regular season with a 3-0 win over Assumption Tuesday night. Game scores were 30-17, 30-27, 30-23. The Bulldogs will have the weekend off to prepare for the NE-10 Conference tournament Nov. 11-12 at Pace University.

Volleyball's Streak Snapped with 3-2 Loss to Bentley Tuesday Night
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to Bentley College before 800 fans at the Chace Athletic Center. The loss snaps Bryant's 37 regular-season conference win streak dating back to the 2002 season. Bryant will host the annual Halloween Tournament starting this Friday with a match against C.W. Post at 6 p.m.

Ten Athletes Named To Conference Weekly Honors List
SMITHFIELD, RI - A total of 10 Bryant University student-athletes earned recognition by the Northeast-10 Conference this week for their performances last week. Volleyball's Monika Sattler In China On Study-Abroad
Volleyball junior Monika Sattler is currently in China through the Bryant University study abroad program. She currently visited the Great Wall of China with her tour group and will return to the U.S. later this summer. The Bulldog volleyball team will report to preseason camp in mid-August in preparation for the 2007 opener Aug. 31 at the Lewis University Invitational in Romeoville, Ill.

Cegarra and Perry Receive Jim Thorpe Awards At Intecultural Center Awards Banquet
SMITHFIELD, RI - On March 31, the Intercultural Center at Bryant continued a tradition with the sixth annual Senior Awards Banquet. Fourteen seniors were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the Bryant community over the last four years. Included were Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH) and Lorenzo Perry (Providence, RI). Each were recipients of the 2007 ICC Jim Thorpe Athletic Award.

Cegarra and Garry named to 2006 Daktronics Northeast All-Region Volleyball Teams
Senior Jessica Cegarra (Danville, NH) and junior Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) were named to the 2006 Daktronics Northeast All-Region Volleyball teams this week. Cegarra garnered first team recognition while Garry was named to the second team. Cegarra had a record breaking season to close out her time as a member of the Bulldogs. She finished her career with 534 career blocks, No.1 all-time at Bryant. She was also Bryant's primary offensive threat, leading the Bulldog's in kills with 529. She led Bryant in points this season with 619.0. Garry again was the team's primary setter. She finished the season with 1,454 sets, averaging just under 11 per a game. She also led Bryant in serving aces with 86.

Former Player Maria Bras-Benitez, Class of 1995 Elected to NE-10 Hall of Fame
Former Bryant volleyball player Maria Bras-Benitez was elected to the Northeast-10's Hall of Fame today. Bras, who played for for Bryant from 1991-1995, was among the greatest players in school history. She was a the Bryant female athlete of the year in 1994 and 1995 and led the Bulldogs to the round of 16 in the 1994 NCAA Tournament. She finished her career with 2,045 career kills and was the first player in school history with more than 1,500.

Volleyball Falls to Bentley 3-0 in NCAA Regional First Round
WEST HAVEN, CT - Senior Vanessa Lavallee had nine kills and freshman Morgan Wood added seven but it was not enough as the Bulldogs saw its 2006 season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to Bentley College in the first round of the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship. Senior Jessica Cegarra had seven kills and added four blocks as the Bulldogs finish the year 21-19.

Bryant Volleyball Ready For NCAA Tournament
SMITHFIELD, RI For the tenth time in the program's history, the Bryant University volleyball team is headed to the NCAA tournament. In fact, postseason trips have become the norm for the Bulldogs in recent years. This Thursdays first round matchup will mark the seventh-straight time Bryant coach Theresa Garlacy has led her team to the NCAA Regional. Bryant (21-18) will be the No. 7 seed of the 2006 Northeast Regional and will square off with the second-seeded Falcons at 5 p.m. Thursday at the University of New Haven. This will be the third meeting of the year between Bryant and Bentley and the second since the two teams met in the Northeast-10 Conference semifinals last Saturday at Bryant, won by Bentley by a score of 3-1.

Bryant Volleyball Headed Back to NCAA Tournament
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team is headed back to the NCAA tournament. For the 10th time in school history, the Bulldogs will take part in the NCAA Regional tournament when the Bulldogs travel to West Haven, Conn. this Thursday where they'll face Bentley College in the quarterfinals. Bentley defeated Bryant 3-1 in the NE-10 semifinals on Saturday. The University of New Haven will serve as the hosts of the tournament.

SMITHFIELD, RI - The 2006 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball tournament got underway Friday evening at the Chace Athletic Center. Hosted by Bryant University, the top three seeds of the tournament advanced to the semifinal round with the lone upset coming in the evening session when No. 5 Le Moyne knocked off No. 4 UMass Lowell, 3-1. Top-seed Saint Rose defeated Merrimack 3-0 while No. 2 seed Bentley rolled past Pace, 3-0. Bryant, the No. 3 seed defeated Franklin Pierce, 3-1. The semifinal matchups will feature Saint Rose vs. Le Moyne and Bentley vs. Bryant. Both start at 2 pm with the winners advancing to the championship match at 7 pm.

BROOKVILLE, NY - The Bryant University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of tough five-game matches Saturday in second-day action at the C.W. Post Volleyball Invitational. Bryant fell to the host Pioneers 3-2 and dropped a 3-2 decision to Nova Southeastern. The Bulldogs host AIC on Wednesday.

Bryant Volleyball Falls to No. 12 Cal Poly Pomona 3-0 Saturday
LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Bryant womens volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to 14th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona to wrap up the 2006 Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego Saturday. Bryant (0-5) was led by Likica Grceva who paced the Bryant attack with 11 kills. The transfer from Maryland Eastern Shore hit .296 with just three errors on 27 swings. Sophomore defensive standout Maureen Atkins (Fenton, MO) added 13 digs while junior setter Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) had 27 assists. Bryant will travel to CW Post on Long Island for a two-day tournament next weekend.

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Likica Grceva and Vanessa Lavallee had six kills apiece but it was not enough as the Bryant women's volleyball team fell to host UC San Diego, 3-0 and Cal State Dominguez Hills in second-day action at the Triton Invitational. The Bulldogs (0-4) will face Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday afternoon to close out the tournament. Jessica Cegarra had 15 kills in the nightcap against Dominguez Hills.

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team was picked to finish first in the Northeast-10 Conference for the third-straight season as the conference office announced the results of the preseason coaches' poll. Volleyball Opens Fall Practice in Preparation For Opener August 24
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team reported to school over the week and have been busy preparing for the upcoming 2006 season. The Bulldogs, under the direction of 11th-year coach Theresa Garlacy open the season August 24th at the UC San Diego Invitational in La Jolla, Calif against Cal State Los Angeles. The Bulldogs were 27-10 last season, capturing the Northeast-10 Conference tournament title for the third-straight season and advancing to the NCAA Division II tournament for the seventh consecutive year.

SMITHFIELD, RI - Vanessa Lavallee and Jessica Cegarra each had 12 kills while Beth Schlatter, Tiffany Garry, and Elysce Tackman all played a key role as the Bulldogs advance to the semifinals where Bryant will meet Bentley for a right to play in the regional final Saturday. Dowling Opens With Win In Match 1 of NCAA Regional
SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team has will host the 2005 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship at the Chace Athletic Center starting Thursday, Nov. 17 and concluding with the championship scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19. All of the matches can be seen throughout the tournament online while Bryant will provide audio broadcast of Bulldog matches. Dowling College, the top seed, opened with a 3-0 win over Goldey-Beacom Thursday.

Garry Named NE-10 Setter of the Year
EASTON, Mass. - Bryant University standout sophomore setter Tiffany Garry has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Year for 2005. Garry, the setter of the year as a freshman in 2004, has 1,466 assists this season and 103 service aces. Muniz, Bryant's all-time career kills leader, was named player of the year for the second straight year.
