Muniz and Garry Honored By Daktronics in Volleyball

BRYANT’S MUNIZ NAMED REGIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Garry Named Second Team All-Region
SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University senior all-American Michelle Muniz was named the 2005 Women’s Volleyball Northeast Regional Player of the Year by Daktronics. Muniz, Bryant’s all-time career kills leader and all-region selection by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), was named to the Daktronics First Team as voted by the nation’s Sports Information Directors.
Sophomore setter Tiffany Garry, also an all-region selection by the AVCA, earned Second Team Daktronics All-Region honors, joining Dowling’s Jana Cleveland as the only setters selected first or second team. Garry was named the 2005 Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Year in November.
The Bulldogs posted a 27-10 record in 2005, advancing to the
NCAA Regional Semifinals, hosted by Bryant University. It was
Bryant’s seventh-straight trip to the NCAA tournament.
