Dowling Opens With Win In Match 1 of NCAA Regional

BRYANT SELECTED TO HOST NCAA NORTHEAST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant University women's volleyball team has been selected to host the 2005 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship at the Chace Athletic Center starting Thursday, Nov. 17 and concluding with the championship scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19.  The Bulldogs will be the No. 2 seed of the tournament behind top-seed Dowling College.  Bentley College will be the No. 3 seed of the tournament.

The Bulldogs (26-9) will take on New York Institute of Technology (16-15) in the opener on Thursday.  Game times for the tournament will be finalized on Monday.  Other first round matchups which will take place on Thursday include:  No. 1 Dowling vs. No. 8 Goldey-Beacom;  No. 5 Saint Rose vs. No. 4 Mercy; No. 3 Bentley vs. No. 6 UMass Lowell.
