Volleyball's Jessica Cegarra Named NE-10 Player of Week; Garry Tabbed as Northeast-10 Setter of The Week
Cegarra and Garry Named Conference Players of the Week
SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant junior outside hitter Jessica Cegarra
(Danville, NH) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball
Player of the Week while teammate Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, IL) was
tabbed as the NE-10 Setter of the Week. The announcement was
made Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Cegarra had a tremendous week for the Bulldogs, posting 51 kills in four Bryant wins for the week. After recording 10 kills in a 3-0 win over AIC on Wednesday, Cegarra tore up the Bryant Invitational with 41 kills and 10 blocks in three matches to earn MVP honors for the tourney.
Cegarra had 17 kills in the team's 3-0 win over Wilmington and added 14 kills plus four service aces in a 3-0 win over Mercy.
Garry earned Northeast-10 Setter of the Week honors by averaging
12.33 assists in three matches at the Bryant Invitational.
Named to the all-tourney team, Garry had 39 assists in the
Wilmington win and followed with 37 assists in a win over Saint
Anselm.
For the week, Garry had 146 assists and 15 service aces - six coming against Wilmington.
Bryant hosts Saint Anselm Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center.
