SMITHFIELD, RI - Bryant University women's volleyball coach Theresa Garlacy celebrated her 300th career coaching victory on September 15 in the Bulldogs' 3-0 win over the University of Bridgeport at the Chace Athletic Center.
Now in her 11th season as coach of the Bulldogs, Garlacy entered the year ranked 30th all-time in the NCAA for coaching victories and 17th all-time for winning percentage.
During her career, the Smithfield, RI native and 1988 graduate of Providence College has led the Bulldogs to eight NCAA Division II tournament appearances, winning four Northeast-10 Conference championships and one ECAC Championship along the way.
A member of the NCAA regional volleyball committee, Garlacy was honored by the Rhode Island Special Olympics with the Distinguished Service Award. In 2002, Bryant volleyball received the Community Service Program of the Year award.
Bryant, 12-10 overall this year, will travel to Saint Michael's College tonight and visit Merrimack next Tuesday. The next home match for the Bulldogs is Tuesday, Oct. 10 vs. Stonehill.
Garlacy's overall record entering tonight's match is 303-118.
