WALTHAM, Mass. - The Bryant women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to C.W. Post in the second match of the 2007 Bentley Invitational Friday evening. After falling to seventh-ranked Central Missouri in the opener, the Bulldogs dropped a heart-breaking five game match to the Pioneers of the East Coast Conference, last year's NCAA regional finalist.
C.W. Post, behind Jessica Lubeski's 20 kills and 18 digs, stormed out to a 2-0 lead, but the Bulldogs would bounce back, winning game's three and four in dramatic fashion, 30-27, 30-28 to force a fifth and deciding game. Unfortunately, C.W. Post would hold off the Bulldogs for a 15-11 win to claim the match.
Senior Likica Grceva (Natick, Mass.) paced the Bulldogs with 20 kills while junior Monika Sattler (Gruenwald, Germany) added 16. Senior setter Tiffany Garry (Frankfort, Germany) had 55 assists with junior defensive specialist Maureen Atkins (Fenton, MO) adding 18 digs defensively.
The Bulldogs will face Georgian Court and New Haven on Saturday.
