WELCOME TO TONIGHT'S GAME
The Bryant University volleyball team returns home after a six-game
roadtrip to host future Northeast Conference rival Fairleigh
Dickinson University at the Chace Athletic Center, Thursday,
October 2 at 6 p.m. This is the first meeting between the Bulldogs
(11-6) and the Knights (11-7).
SO FAR IN 2008...
The Bulldogs have gone 3-3 since their last home contest and are
11-6 in their first season at the Division I level. Bryant is 5-1
against opponents from its future home in the NEC entering
tonight's game with the Knights, who are 11-7 with a current
three-game winning streak.
A "FRESH" NEW LOOK
Bryant's trio of freshmen are tearing up the court in
2008. Each of the three - Hilary Andrews (Tipp City, Ohio), Maria
Scocca (Melrose, Mass.) and Jazmin Stoner (Durango, Colo.) - has
been named to an all-tournament team already this season, with
Stoner earning two such honors. The three are also tops in kills
for the Bulldogs this season, with Andrews leading the way
(164) and Stoner (155) and Scocca (148) not far behind. But
it is Scocca's .314 attack percentage that leads the team, along
with her 72 total blocks (17 solo, 55 block assists).
NEXT UP...
Bryant faces a weekend of NEC competition, travelling to
the Keystone State to take on Saint Francis (NY) on Sat., Oct. 4 at
2 p.m. before a 5 p.m. faceoff with host Robert Morris. On Sunday,
the Bulldogs will take a trip through PA to play Saint Francis
(Pa.) in a 1 p.m. bout.
