BULLDOGS TOPPLE WAGNER, 3-0, IN FIRST DAY OF CRUSADER CLASSIC; GARLACY GETS 350TH CAREER WIN

WORCESTER, Mass. - Led by a match-high 13 kills from freshman Hilary Andrews (Tipp City, Ohio), the Bryant University volleyball team got head coach Theresa Garlacy her 350th career victory, topping NEC opponent Wagner College, 3-0, Friday night at the Crusader Classic in Worcester, Mass.

Andrews's 13 kills were compliments by seven digs and a block assist, while sophomore Adrienne Boss (Dracut, Mass.) and frosh Jazmin Stoner (Durango, Colo.) each added six kills of their own.

Fellow rookie Maria Scocca (Melrose, Mass.) also had another big day, registering five kills with five digs, two service aces and five total blocks (1 BS, 4 BA).

Wagner was led by nine kills from Alex Klein, but came close to the Bulldogs only in the second set, which Bryant won, 25-21. Bryant took the first and third sets by 11 and 14 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs move to an impressive 6-2 with the win, while Wagner falls to 2-3 on the year.

Bryant returns to Worcester Saturday, Sept. 13 to finish out the Crusader Classic, when it will take on Providence College at 4 p.m. before a 7 p.m. rematch with host Holy Cross. The Crusaders and the Bulldogs faced off last weekend at the Sacred Heart Invitational, a game won by Bryant, 3-0.
