BULLDOGS HOST SACRED HEART IN 2008 HOME OPENER TUESDAY AT 7 P.M., LOOK TO ADD TO THREE-GAME WIN STREAK
SMITHFIELD, RI -- After 10-straight road games, the Bryant University volleyball team finally returns home to Smithfield, R.I. to host future Northeast Conference rival Sacred Heart University in the 2008 home opener at the Chace Athletic Center, Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.

SO FAR IN
2008...
The 2008 Bulldogs are tearing up Division I competition as if
they've been at it for years. In three weekend tournaments thus
far, Bryant has lost just one match - a 3-2 loss to Navy - and has
dropped only six sets in those games. The Bulldogs have topped a
trio of future NEC opponents, including Sacred Heart in Fairfield,
Conn., and have fallen only one other time - to the America East's
University of New Hampshire.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE PIONEERS...
The Bulldogs last faced off against Sacred Heart on September 7,
2008 in the SHU Invitational, hosted by the Pioneers. Bryant
topped SHU, 3-2, and were led by double-doubles from both rookie
Hillary Andrews (13 kills, 16 digs) and sophomore Miranda Kolb (42
assists, 16 digs). The Bulldogs took wins in the first and third
sets, dropping the even games before taking a 15-12 victory in the
shortened fifth.
NEXT UP...
Bryant stays local, taking on Quinnipiac, Stony Brook
and host Brown University in the Brown Tournament, Friday and
Saturday, September 19 and 20, 2008.
