LORENZO NAMED ALL-INDEPENDENT PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- After posting 61 assists, 27 digs and 11 kills in two matches, Bryant University volleyball setter Jadith Lorenzo (Lawrence, Mass.) was named the NCAA Division I All-Independent Player of the Week.

Lorenzo notched a pair of double-doubles on the week to earn her third straight double-double, and started the weekend by posting 18 assists and 12 digs against Sacred Heart on Saturday.

But the rookie truly shined on Sunday against Fairleigh Dickinson, setting a new career mark with her match-leading 43 assists and adding 15 digs and eight kills despite a five-set loss. She fell just two kills shy of picking up her first career triple-double.

Lorenzo also led the team in hitting percentage, posting a .321 clip on the week, and chipped in a team-best three aces with four total blocks.

The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday, Nov. 11 when they travel to Central Connecticut State for a 7 p.m. matchup against the Blue Devils.
