Ted Garlacy enters his 14th year as an assistant coach at Bryant.
It might be hard to find a coach who devotes as much time and effort as Garlacy does to the Bulldog volleyball team.
Assisting his wife, head coach Theresa Garlacy, Ted plays a key role with all aspects of the Bulldog program, including recruiting, scouting, coordinating practice sessions, match administration, and strength & conditioning.
Together, the two are the perfect combination that have turned the Bryant program into one of the top volleyball programs in the region.
Since Garlacy came to Bryant in 1994, the Bulldogs have won 20 or more matches ten times and have topped the 30-win plateau on four occasions while making 11 NCAA tournament appearances.
In addition to his work at Bryant, Garlacy also has spent three seasons as an assistant coach and two years as head coach at North Smithfield High School and also was the head coach of Brown University's men's club volleyball team.
A 1991 graduate of Roger Williams University, Garlacy currently is a sergeant in the North Smithfield police department. In addition to his coaching duties, Garlacy also coordinates many of the Bulldog volleyball team's community service efforts and has been a longtime volunteer with the Special Olympics.
Garlacy is scheduled to receive a master's degree at Bryant in May, 2007.
